What to expect

This tour starts from the Bell & Drum Towers in the north and ends at Yongdingmen in the south. You'll run through the north and south of Beijing Old Town, with a total length of 7.8 kilometers, covering nearly 65% of the area of Beijing Old Town.

The Central Axis of Beijing was formed in the Yuan Dynasty and has a history of more than 750 years. It is the highest achievement in the planning and construction of the ancient capital in Eastern civilization. On the Axis of the city, there are not only grand royal buildings, but also ancient residential quadrangles and important modern buildings.

In 2012, the Central Axis of Beijing was placed on the preparatory list of World Cultural heritage sites and by 2018, 14 sites, including Tian 'anmen Square, had been registered as a World Heritage site.

Itinerary:

At 02:00pm you'll meet at U House Yuanlong Plaza and do some preparation and warm-ups. Then you'll receive your health kit, get your bike assigned, have your helmet checked and be given safety instructions.

At 02:45pm you'll start the 20 km long Central Axis pedaling adventure, where you will admire 14 historical and scenic spots such as the Southern Moat, the Weat Gate of Temple of Heaven, the Tian'anmen Square, the Prince Chun's Mansion, the Chang an Avenue and many more.

The tour will end at 05:30pm back at U House, where you can enjoy a delicious meal.
