What to expect

Wandering through the halls and gardens of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Royal Palace of Caserta, is an adventure fit for a king or queen. On this tour, you’ll explore the palace, with highlights including the Royal Staircase, chapel and theatre. Brought to life by King Charles of Bourbon and architect Luigi Vanvitelli, the Royal Palace of Caserta boasts over 1,200 rooms ready for exploration. Prepare to be wowed by the Royal Apartments, decked out in the finest avant-garde luxuries of the time with frescoes, chandeliers – and plenty of gold. Then, you’ll head up the immense Grand Staircase, with its parallel staircases, arches and columns resembling a temple. Alessia, says, ‘Don’t forget to look up to see the painted dome – a false ceiling used by musicians to surprise guests with music’. You’ll also catch a glimpse of the Royal Chapel and Theatre – a mini version of Naples’ Teatro San Carlo.

Then, grab a breath of fresh air in the Reggia’s endless gardens. Watch classical mythology come alive with fountains, statues, and waterfalls and don’t miss your chance to see the romantic English Gardens – perfect for snapping up photos of exotic plants and flowers.
