What to expect

In this tour you will have the chance to discover the unique Bonaire caves.

It is estimated that Bonaire is home to over 400 hidden caves and yet, many locals and tourists alike never heard about them! With an amazing underground ecosystem of stalactites and stalagmites that formed over thousands of years, this tour allows you to explore these magnificent structures with an experienced local cave guide.

You will be picked-up from your accommodation and will be taken to the North side of the Island to a place called Hill Top. On the way, your guide will share local information about the area and the Island as you head to and from the caves.

You will explore 3 diverse caves with a small group, including 2 dry caves and a wet/dry cave where you will have the opportunity to snorkel in freshwater and explore multiple caverns. During this very active tour, you will be flashlight-exploring and maneuvering with your guide’s help around beautiful formations, fossilized corals, imprints, and limestone. It truly is one of the best-kept secrets on the Island and an experience unique to Bonaire. Whether you’ve lived on the Island for ages or only have a few hours, you don’t want to miss it!

Note that the cave tour is a physical tour that requires good mobility & health. Guests must be able to duck, bend, crouch and step-up with ease
Bonaire Caves are in their natural state and do not have paved paths or safety barricades. Your guide will lead and assist you as needed
Caves are naturally hot, humid and the air in sections can be dense. People with breathing restrictions should not attempt this tour
The guide has full discretion during the tour to alter the experience for his/her group based on physical ability or cave conditions. Your safety is in priority
It is recommended that you bring: closed-toe shoes and not flip flops, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, extra water, comfortable clothes for hot or humid conditions, a camera and your swimwear if you'd like to fully explore the wet cave
This is a small-group guided tour of up to 7 people per vehicle. You will be in a shared van or car depending on the number of guests
Cruise Ship guests: Your guide will be welcoming you with your first name or last name on a sign in front of the cruise ship exit/enter gate where your ship is docked. When you exit the gate, walk straight forward and look for a sign saying “internet bookings”. Your guide will be there 15 minutes prior to the start of your tour to collect you and then you will be back to the ship 1 hour before the ship departure time. If you don't see your guide with your name, please stay at the gate of your ship and do not walk away and look for your guide, let your guide look for you
