What to expect

Discover why Prainha and Grumari are considered by many to be wild beaches on this full-day, private, guided hiking tour.

Feel treated as you're driven along the coastline heading to the West side of Rio. Pass by beaches you probably haven't heard of (São Conrado, Barra, Reserva, Recreio and Macumba). Your first stop will be Prainha, a beautiful, secluded small beach. Hear how it's the best surf spot in Rio and enjoy the views of the protected area, surrounded by lush mountains. Next, go on a 90-minute hike in the tropical rainforest, reaching an incredible viewpoint at Caeté Belvedere, 190 meters (624 ft) above sea level. After the hike, a 5-minute drive will take you onto Grumari Beach, another secluded, untouched, and protected beach. At Grumari, you’ll have plenty of time (about three hours) to enjoy the beach and its clear waters and fine white sands, surrounded by protected tropical rainforest. As the land is protected you will enjoy the natural beauty of the area without any residential buildings in sight.
