You'll have an early start to reach the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site of Plitvice National Park – but some trips are worth the effort. Journeying through the hills and countryside of the Dalmatian Hinterland, it promises to be a day of amazing landscapes.
Arriving at the park by mid-morning gives you plenty of time to explore the 18km of wooden paths that snake around the park. What's more, a guided nature walk takes you along all the bridges, boards and best lookout points over the lakes.
