Do this because

  • Wander the desolate streets of Varosha on a guided walking tour
  • See hotels and home that have been frozen in time since 1974
  • Grab a refreshing drink and relax on Constantia beach

What to expect

Step back into a touristic-time capsule on this walking tour of Varosha – a once-thriving holiday resort which now stands as a testament to the past in the occupied north of Cyprus. With a knowledgeable guide in tow, you'll get an insight into the dramatic shift that transformed this lively town into a deserted relic almost overnight.

After crossing the Dherynia Checkpoint, you'll make straight for Varosha. Once renowned for its luxurious hotels and white-sand beaches, it wasn't uncommon to spot celebrities here. With your guide leading the way, you'll explore its silent streets, passing crumbling buildings and homes that have remained completely untouched since 1974.

As you navigate around this time capsule, your guide will point out significant landmarks, bringing to life the ghost town and remembering its vibrant past. After walking for around 90 minutes, you'll have some time to reflect or grab a drink on Constantia beach, before heading back to the border.
