From Guayaquil or Cuenca, you'll enjoy the picturesque landscapes of the region on the way to Cajas National Park. Once in the park, you'll visit the Llaviuco lagoon, where you'll admire the flora and fauna of the place, you stand a good chance of seeing wild horses and llamas, as well as the vast landscapes covered in wildflower-strewn páramo, with some of the only remaining polylepis (paper trees) in the country. After touring the lagoon, you'll begin your descent into the subtropical lowlands where you'll be amazed by the rapid change in weather and scenery.
On the way back, you'll visit a cocoa plantation where you'll enjoy tastings of cocoa and derived products.
