What to expect
You’ll have a couple of experiences on this trip, which starts with a short motorboat ride to a traditional Nubian village that’s set on its own island. First, there’s a guided a tour of the village, which is filled with spice shops, riverside cafés and rainbow-hued houses that bring it to life. You’ll get to mingle with some of the friendly locals and hear their native language, Nuba, before you set off for the second part of your trip – a felucca ride along the Nile. These traditional, canvas-sailed boats have been part of the furniture here for yonks, and you’ll be sable to sit back and take in the views along the riverbank while you glide along. You’ll also have a certified Egyptologist with you for the whole tour, who’ll be on hand to point out the sights and answer any lingering questions.
