You’ll visit a couple of Aswan’s best-known landmarks on this half-day trip, which starts with a ride on a felucca. These traditional wooden boats have been sailing up and down the Nile for centuries, and you’ll spend an hour floating around Aswan’s Nile islands on one before getting off at your first stop, the Tombs of the Nobles. These tombs mark the resting place for some of Ancient Egypt’s princes, governors, and other dignitaries, and they sit high up in the cliffs across the Nile from Aswan. After your visit here, you’ll hop back on the felucca and head to Kitchener’s Island – named after Lord Horatio Kitchener, the former consul-general of Egypt. Aswan’s botanical garden can be found here, and you’ll have some time to wander among the exotic plants before getting back on the felucca for one final time as you head back to base.
