Discover the legendary Temples of Dendera and Abydos on this full-day cultural tour of land and people through its history with an Egyptologist.

Setting off from Marsa Alam in the early morning towards Qena City, a large market town on the River Nile, then head to the impressive Temple of Abydos. Whilst travelling, you will watch local Egyptian villages and green fields with farmers ploughing, watering, planting, or harvesting. Admire, seeing children going to school or women going to the market to sell their products of cheese, butter and geese. Visit the captivating Temple of Abydos one of the best-preserved temple complexes in Egypt.

It is time to stretch your legs and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal at a traditional house next to the Temple. Try Mesaka’a, a traditional dish consisting of eggplants, tomatoes and minced meat. Don’t forget to taste Molokheya soup, a famous Egyptian recipe especially when served with plain rice and baladi green salad. The main dish is made of cooked vegetables with meat in traditional tajins plus grilled chicken. You will never forget the unique taste of the traditional bread called “ Shamsi bread”. Try authentic hot drinks such as tea with mint, anise, ginger, fenugreek, cinnamon and more.
