What to expect
Start your day with a winery tour and Vouvray wine tasting.
Made from Chenin Blanc grape, Vouvray wines offers mineral wines with a high acidity level which gives to the wine a great aging capacity.
Continue with a tour and Bourgueil wine tasting at a local domain. The red and rosé wines produced on the domain are presented under the appellation « Bourgueil » AOC. They stem 100% from the "Cabernet Franc" grape, introduced by the monks of the Abbey in the 11th century.
Then, your guide will lead you to Chinon for a sighhtseeing of the town. With its medieval streets, Chinon has remained an outdoor museum of architecture and history. Discover the medieval half-timbered houses and the Renaissance townhouses built the King’s financers or ministers. With its fortress built by Henry II Plantagenet and Richard Lion’s heart, Chinon is the town where Joan of Arc met King Charles VII in 1429. You'll enjoy free time for lunch, your guide will recommend restaurants.
Finish the tour with a Chinon wine tasting at a local winery, with a visit of the vineyard and a wine tasting in their cellar.
