Discover the UNESCO World Heritage Kontorhausviertel and Speicherstadt on a guided city tour and learn more about the dynamic development of the merchant city of Hamburg.
Where once there were corridor quarters, Kontor houses were built in the old town for the burgeoning port city. Stroll through the Kontorhausviertel and admire the famous Kontorhäuser, an office building district from the 1920s. Visit some special staircases along the way.
Then enter Speicherstadt and get involved in a whole different world. See unique warehouses, canals, bridges, loading hatches, and castle-like facades. Learn more about the storage of merchandise such as spices, pepper, tobacco, cocoa beans, and coffee from overseas. Walk among the International Maritime Museum and see the magnificent HHLA administration building. Admire the moated castle and the Fleetschlösschen. See carpet dealers who still use the warehouses for storage.
Finally, get a small view of the HafenCity with the Überseequartier and the Elbphilarmonie.
