Regensburg’s Medieval centre is one of the best preserved in Europe, so much so that UNESCO made the whole place a World Heritage Site. You’ll stroll through the oldy-worldy part of the city on this guided tour. The city began as a fortress built by Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius in 179. These days, some of what’s left of the fort’s been used as the foundations for modern buildings. You’ll see a mish-mash of old and new structures during your tour. Next, you’ll pass by the Collegiate Church – the oldest cathedral in Bavaria – and stop for a selfie in front of the Goliath Building. This 800-year-old mansion’s decorated with a four-storey-tall painting of the biblical battle between David and Goliath. From here, you’ll start the walk back to the port.
