See what Speyer – one of Germany’s oldest cities – has up its sleeve on this guided walk, which’ll last around two hours. Its 11th-century cathedral’s one of the largest and most significant in the country, so it’s a natural choice for the first stop of the tour. As you stroll there, your guide will tell you all about it and the German kings who are laid to rest in its crypt. You’ll have the chance to take a look inside the cathedral before continuing on to see the 18th-century town hall. Next up are the ruins of a synagogue and mikvah – a Jewish bath. Testament to the large Jewish community who called Speyer home in the 1100s, it’s in surprisingly good condition and one of the oldest of its kind to still be maintained today. You’ll finish up at the Baroque Trinity Church – inside, its domed ceiling’s decorated with intricate frescos representing scenes from the Bible.
