What to expect
Driving from Athens with your guide, then reach the Marathon lake - dam. Visit the marathon battlefield and the archaeological museum, the Marathon tomb that every year, the original Marathon race in Greece starts from.
Continue to the museum, the archaeological site and the beach of Vravrona where the Trojan campaign began and Iphigenia was sacrificed to the goddess Artemis to give wind to the sails of the ships of the ancient Greeks. Lunch in a local restaurant.
Next stop, cape Sounion at Poseidon temple. After a visit there, you will take the coastal road to Athens. This is an incredibly beautiful route, by the sea. En route, make a small stop at the Vouliagmeni lake, one of the strangest and most beautiful natural phenomena in Greece.
At Piraeus, you will see the port and visit the ancient walls and see the naval battlefield of Salamis took place.
