What to expect
Tucked up near the mountainous Bulgarian border lies Lake Kerikini – a vast area of marshland that's a haven for rare plants, birds and wildlife. Going where coaches can't, you'll travel by both boat and off-road vehicle to explore all the hidden corners of Greece's premier national park. And after adventures on both water and land, there's a well-earned lunch of local favourites to enjoy.
It all starts in a traditional boat called a ‘plaves', to glide along the water and admire the idyllic natural scenery. Lake Kerikini is the premier birding site in Greece, so coming to a complete stop, you'll hear the sounds of over a thousand birds around you.
Afterwards, well-equipped off-roaders will take you to places around the lake where you'll realise what 4X4s are needed for. Powering through mud-puddles, you'll follow no particular road as you zig-zag through the park. Back at base, a well-deserved lunch is served, washed down with a few drinks to end the day.

On this cruise, you'll explore the waters between Athos and Sithonia peninsulas, enjoying swimming stops and free time in Ammouliani town.You'll board the ship at Ormos Panagias and laze on deck as it cruises across the Singitic Gulf to Ammouliani island. Explore its only village, strolling past dinky stone houses towards the tiny main square, where you'll find St Nicholas's Church and a dinky market to grab local products.Next, you'll set sail again for one of Ammouliani's most beautiful beaches, where stretches of sand melt into clear waters. Spend a couple of hours soaking up the sun and swimming in the sea before a light lunch is served. On the way back, when reaching the sandy shores of Sithonia, we'll weave through islets scattered across the sea until your captain drops anchor. With all the planning taken care of, you'll be able to while away the hours in total relaxation under the bright Greek sun before we arrive at the first swim stop. You'll also stop by Neos Marmaras and Kelifos Island on this relaxing boat trip.Your destination is Toroni, where you'll be able to have fun and games on the beach or just chill out and top up your tan. There'll be a snack provided once you're back on board, while the skipper navigates to Neos Marmaras. One of the biggest ports in Halkidiki, you'll have time here to explore the town and hit the shops.There's a one last stop during the afternoon at Kelifos Island.
