The Royal Palace in Portici was built in 1738 at the behest of the King of Naples, Charles of Bourbon, and his wife, Amalia of Saxony, who was fascinated by the landscapes of the South.
Engineers, architects, and decorators of Luigi Vanvitelli and Ferdinando Fuga caliber. Today, the seat of the "Federico II" Agricultural University of Naples was one of the first buildings that Charles of Bourbon began to build once the crown of Naples was acquired. He loved to spend the most beautiful part of the year in this house placed on the horse of the ancient Strada Regia delle Calabrie, in a position of exceptional beauty, halfway between Vesuvius and the sea.
Crossing the rooms on the main floor, the itinerary continues with a visit to the Herculanense Museum, a virtual version of the first Bourbon museum of the excavations of Herculaneum and Pompeii, of the Royal Chapel, where the famous Mozart and the nearby Franciscan convent of Sant 'performed Antonio, dating back to the 14th century, rich in history and hidden art treasures.
