You will come across the ancient Neapolitan receipts, combined with a tasting of red and white wines coming from the Vesuvius and Benevento areas. The food tour starts with a toast, during which you will know Falanghina (a white sparkling wine), a local product very famous among wine-experts. You will then wander through the city with its meandering streets and artisan shops. You are going to taste true mozzarella and have a try at the best street food, such as “pizza fritta” (fried pizza) or “frittatina di maccheroni” (a little frittata made of maccheroni.) The tour goes on through a sample of pasta made with unique local ingredients in one of the most renowned restaurants of Naples. Prepare yourself for an explosive combination of flavors and don’t miss the bruschetta with “colatura di alici” (a special anchovy dressing whose origins date back to Roman times) and more local wine.

Your journey begins at the Arena of Spartacus, the ancient amphitheater in Capua. Second in size only to Rome's Colosseum, this amphitheater is older, better preserved, and less crowded. Join your guide, a specialist in Roman archaeology, to tour the home of the Gladiator school of Ancient Rome where the legendary gladiator Spartacus made his daring escape and ignited his revolt against Roman slavery.Upon leaving the army, Spartacus was sold into slavery. He was ordered to go to Capua to enroll in Gladiator training school, where he rebelled against his enslavement and managed to escape alongside several other trainee gladiators.
