What to expect

Lebanon's capital Beirut was once known as "Paris of the Middle East" and is once again a vibrant city full of culture and history. Explore Beirut onboard the comfortable open-top red buses that will take you around this fascinating city.

A well-recommended stop on your route is the St Nicolas Stairs located in the Gemmayzeh neighborhood, where you'll find numerous bars and restaurants for a restoring pause. St Nicolas Stairs are a living exhibition space where exhibitions and cultural events are held regularly.

If you fancy some shopping, make sure to hop off at the Beirut Souks, which historically has been the commercial heart of the city. Severely damaged in the war, it has undergone major reconstruction. Today, one of the city's architectural gems is the Zaha Hadid-designed North Souks department store.

St George Maronite Cathedral is an impressive building that stands next to a beautiful mosque and a Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Here you can really experience Beirut's long-standing religious plurality. The Greek Orthodox Cathedral also has an excellent little museum in its crypt.

Along the route, you'll find, among others, the Roman Baths, Nejmeh Square, AUB Archaeological Museum and the impressive Pigeon Rocks. Create your own itinerary of Beirut with these 14 stops, which all offer something to discover more in-depth.
