What to expect

The tour will begin under the cloud of lights at the central station of Rotterdam. From this characteristic station you will move towards the air girth. The air girth is the outcome of a city initiative: here citizens could submit projects that needed to improve the quality of the city. After you have passed the air girth, you will go to the Delft gate, this was the old city gate of Rotterdam. Then you will go to the Coolsingel, this is one of the most famous streets of Rotterdam. On the Coolsingel you can find the town hall and the old post office. After this you will move on to another well-known Rotterdam street, namely the Meent. From the Meent you will go to the Laurenskerk, this is one of the few objects that survived the bombings in the Second World War. After seeing the Laurenskerk you will leave for the Binnenrotte, there are some special buildings here, including the market hall, the cube houses and the central library.

From the Cube houses you will enjoy the beautiful view of the old harbor and the white house. After enjoying view you will take the metro to one of the most historical neighborhoods of Rotterdam, namely Delfshaven. In Delfshaven you will visit a local baklava store and a local beer brewery. Delfshaven is also the place where the pilgrims church is located, this is the church where the founding fathers of the United States left for England where they took the Mayflower to the United States, the rest is history. The last thing you will see in Delfshaven is a historical windmill that is still in use.

After enjoying this authentic part of Rotterdam you will head back towards the city center were you will visit one of the most vibrant places of the city: the Witte de Withstraat. From the Westersingel you will return to your starting point, the central station (or the drop off location). You will feel like you a real Rotterdammer after this tour!
