What to expect

Trollfjord is one of Norway’s most famous fjords and is know for its stunning beauty, steep mountain range and narrow inlets. There is so much life in the fjords where seabirds, eagles and fish thrive.

This memorable experience will take you sailing around Trollfjord on-board a comfortable catamaran. Upon meeting your guide in Svolvær, you will sail out in the arctic summer morning going east towards the famous fjord. The first 30 minutes offer some smooth sailing and when the weather permits, your skipper will hoist the sails towards Stormolla island.

This cruise in protected waters passes views of steep mountains, white sandy beaches along parts of the shoreline and crystal clear arctic waters. Going through the narrow entrance to Trollfjorden is a treat for all the senses and it’s easy to understand why this relatively remote location is attracting visitors from all over the planet.

Once you reach Trollfjord, your skipper will anchor the boat so you can spend some time exploring the area. You will have stand-up paddleboards at your disposal. Going paddling is a great way to feel the extra connection with nature and will give you the chance to get closer to the beautiful rock formations and waterfall.

On the way back you will stop at one of the best fishing grounds in the area and you will have a go at catching your own fish. No previous experience is needed to participate in this activity and you are welcome to take the fish you catch with you home after the tour.
