What to expect

Looking for something new and fun to do, that's ideal for people of almost all ages? On this canyoning experience, you will immerse yourself in nature by exploring magnificent rivers and waterfalls using different canyoning techniques such as jumps (optional), rappels and water slides.

This excursion takes place in Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeirões, one of the most extraordinary parks in the northeastern part of the island of São Miguel. Upon arrival, you will receive your equipment and then set off on a short walk of around 15 minutes to the first stop, where you will have your first safety briefing.

You will continue on a short scramble uphill where you will stop for your second safety briefing, where your guide will show you how to rappel before continuing onwards and upwards for another 10 minutes to the start of the canyon where the fun will begin!

After reaching the top of the canyon you will start the second part of your adventure. You can expect several jumps (between 2 and 7 meters in height, all optional), a natural slide and some abseils (between 5 and 15 meters in height). After your canyoning experience, you will walk back along your initial path to the starting point.
