What to expect
Sete Cidades Lagoon is considered one of Portugal’s Seven Wonders. Joining this half-day tour and while hiking there, you'll truly understand why.
On this experience departing from Ponta Delgada, you'll discover one of the most important lakes around São Miguel island and a must-see in the Azores. The starting point of this tour is the Vista do Rei Belvedere viewpoint, where you'll learn about the geological formation of the caldera of Sete Cidades.
Then get ready to start your hike on the bridge that separates the two lakes. You'll walk for about 5.5-km passing by the peninsula, also known as Ponta dos Carneiros. Accompanied by your guide, you'll learn more about the characteristics of this place, fauna, flora, volcanic formation, and of course, the legend about the formation of the green and blue lagoons. At the end of the walk, you'll stop in the picturesque center of the town.
