Half-day Game of Thrones experience from Bilbao

Place: Bilbao
Duration: 5 hours
Language: English, Spanish
Mobile voucher accepted

Do this because

  • Walk up the stairs to reach the church in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe
  • The perfect tour for GoT fans
  • Don’t miss the opportunity to visit some filming locations from the TV serie

What to expect

Enjoy the beautiful filming locations where season seven took place. Dragonstone and parts of King’s Landing were filmed in the Basque Country. On this half-day guided tour you will learn not only about what was filmed on each place but also about the local culture and heritage.

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit these filming locations, awarded in 2018 in the category “Outstanding Locations in a Period Television Series” by the Location Managers Guild International.

You'll start this tour with a visit to the Dragonstone Fortress at San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in Bermeo. Here is where Daenerys and Jon Snow meet for the first time. In real life, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is not a big castle but a small hermitage on the top of 241 steps located on the Basque coast.

Next, you’ll see Butrón Castle for a photo stop. While it wasn’t featured on Game of Thrones, this castle has a fairy-tale look about it inspired by Bavarian castle models. It is a perfect place to take photos and feel like a lord or a lady of Winterfell.

Finally, you'll stop at King’s Landing beach, filmed at Muriola Beach in Barrika. Visit the location where Davos, Tyrion and Gendry had to flee from the Gold Cloaks
