What to expect

Discover the art of alphorn blowing in its natural habitat. Immerse yourself in the stunning Swiss mountains, where a majestic alpine lake nestled amidst rugged rock faces awaits.

Your journey begins with a comfortable minibus ride to Oberrickenbach, a scenic hour away. From there, a quaint gondola lift whisks you 1718 meters above sea level. Navigate the Bannalpsee region, seeking out the perfect spots for the most enchanting echoes. Engage in a leisurely hike around the lake and up to Alp Oberfeld where you are likely to meet some goats, the total walking time never exceeding 1 1/2 hours.

Carry your alphorn on your back, as you're guided through introductory exercises en route. Throughout the day, you'll delve into the fundamentals of alphorn playing on your very own instrument. The tour guide will lead you through step-by-step blowing techniques and provide intriguing insights into alphorn history. By day's end, you'll delight in playing a simple melody with your group, promising unforgettable fun and camaraderie.

Extra fees to be paid on site: there will be a lunch break at one of the mountain restaurants (lunch is not included in the tour cost). The price will range between 10€ for a simple snack at Alp Oberfeld and 35€ for a complete lunch at the Bannalpsee Hotel – the choice of the restaurant depends on the weather. Note that the restaurant only accepts cash. Alternatively, you can bring your own lunch
Know in advance: you'll carry the alphorn on your back. You can store items in the alphorn transport bag (it holds up to about 12 liters)
