What to expect

Want to see Istanbul in a day? Then this tour is perfect for you. Start by experiencing one of the most beautiful sights in the world, touring Sultan Ahmet Center, the heart of the Old City from where the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires were ruled. After disembarking, enter the Hagia Sophia, the Church of the Divine Wisdom, one of the greatest marvels of architecture, constructed as a basilica in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian.

Opposite this magnificent building you'll see the Blue Mosque, world-famous for its blue İznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet. You'll then head to the Hippodrome, center of sporting events, like chariot races and athletics, and political activities of the old city. See the Serpentine Column, Obelisk of Theodosius and German Fountain of Wilhelm II decorating the Hippodrome.

Next you'll visit the world's biggest souk, the Grand Covered Bazaar, with nearly 4000 shops selling antiques, jewellery, gold, carpets, leatherware and souvenirs before resting your tired legs at a Turkish restaurant for a spot of lunch. Let your food settle as you sit back and relax on your Bosphorus Cruise enjoying the photogenic straits of both Europe and Asia.

Once off the boat you will get on your bus and see the Golden Horn, the arm of the Bosphorus and a natural harbor of the historical peninsula separating the old and the new parts of İstanbul where the first colonies settled during the Byzantines. Pass the residential area for Byzantine Jews, Italian traders and other multi-cultural areas before passing Balat to see the Metal Church of St. Stephen the Bulgarian, the Jewish Hospital (Or-Ahayim), Fener Orthodox Patriarchate and the 22 kilometer-long Byzantine City Walls. Finish your tour by taking the cable car to Pierre Loti Coffee House for a well deserved cup of something warm.
