What to expect

Exclusive - Free Souvenir Photo Brochure The experience is guided using an exclusive photo brochure designed specifically for the tour. Look at the images of key locations at the height of the Blitz and compare that to their modern day appearance. The photo brochure helps to understand the significance of each place we visit and it can be taken home as a special souvenir and memory of your tour. Wartime Headquarters From 1939 to 1945 Britain fought for its very survival against the might of the German war machine. See the wartime headquarters from where the Allied leaders coordinated the resistance, including Eisenhower's Supreme Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF), General Sikorski's London base, and many more. Britain was to be bombed into submission, and over the course of 76 consecutive nights between September and November 1940 a third of the city was destroyed, while tens of thousands lost their lives. See visible signs of bomb damage from the war and visit the remains of at least one church that was destroyed during the blitz and left as a testament to the devastation. Step back in time See the building where ‘Operation Overlord' wad planned, including the Allied landings on D-Day – the largest air, naval and land operation in history. As our guide tells the incredible story you will see the site where Neville Chamberlain broadcasted the British declaration of war, while hearing that famous broadcast simultaneously. You'll also see where Sir Winston Churchill delivered his victorious VE Day speech more than 6 years later: listen to this speech in the same location it was delivered and hear the emotional reaction from the crowd as they realised their struggle was over. Monuments & Statues We will pass through Parliament Square en-route to Whitehall, where along the way you'll see the statues dedicated to notable Allied figures including Churchill, Eisenhower, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Sir Arthur “Bomber” Harris, as well as several monuments dedicated the Battle of Britain, Women of WWII and the Cenotaph- the site of Britain's national war memorial. Learn of the vital role that women played in the success of the war - from munitions to top secret decoding work at Bletchley Park. Days of operation April-March: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday (except 24th-26th December and 1st January)
