What to expect

Dive into the Revolutionary War while listening to a self-guided audio tour on America's war for freedom. Learn about the 13 careers of Paul Revere, and slowly understand more about the creation of the American constitution.

Follow a 1.5-mile route from the Massachusetts State House to the Paul Revere House, Boston's oldest standing structure. Listen to the audio guide and spot historical landmarks such as the Boston Common, the Granary Burial Ground, and the Omni Parker House Hotel. Discover fun facts like how the former employees of the hotel include Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh and its former guests Charles Dickens and presidential assassin John Wilkes Booth.

Begin your tour below the State House Dome which sits at the top of the Boston Common at 24 Beacon and Park Street. The Green and Red lines have a Park Street stop at the foot of the Common. Walk uphill to the statehouse.

The Boston Common garage lies under the Common. Underground parking tops off at $18 for a full day. Exit the garage and walk uphill to the State House visible from any corner.
