What to expect

Learn more about the Soviet restricted areas in the former Prussian residential city. What happened in the restricted KGB city and how did the people of Potsdam live with the Soviets? Also, you'll go to the site of the Potsdam Conference of 1945 and to the infamous Bridge of Spies.

The 2.5-hour city tour takes you into a mostly unknown history: large parts of the city of Potsdam were restricted areas - no Potsdam residents had access.

Visit Cecilienhof Palace where the Potsdam Conference took place in 1945. Today, the palace and park are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Next to the New Garden for almost five decades was Military Town No. 7 - a forbidden town. It was one of the most important intelligence sites of the Soviets during the Cold War. Among other things, the German headquarters of the KGB's military counterintelligence and a notorious remand prison were located here. On the tour you will learn more about the work and life in this Forbidden City.

Lastly, you will go to the Glienicke Bridge, which became world-famous as the Bridge of Spies. Until the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the bridge was a strictly screened off area.
