What to expect

For the Potsdam Conference in the summer of 1945, Cecilienhof Palace and the surrounding park "Neuer Garten" were closed to the public. The most powerful heads of state in the world at the time came to Potsdam. The conference was an end point of the Second World War, at the same time a starting point of the Cold War. Today, the palace and park are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Next to the New Garden, for almost five decades, was Military Town No. 7 - a forbidden town. It was one of the most important intelligence sites of the Soviets during the Cold War.
