During this guided tour, you'll explore the places where Dante lived from his birth in 1265 to his exile in 1302. You'll walk in his footsteps investigating his life through the city's historical streets, houses, various buildings and monuments, also getting to know more about the lives of other important people from his time. This guided tour will then provide you with a better understanding of the Divine Comedy, Dante's masterpiece.
The tour will start in Piazza del Duomo, where the oldest building of the city and the baptistery of San Giovanni stand. After, you'll move to the Dante Studies Center and to Ponte Vecchio, where according to the legend the struggle among Guelphs and Ghibellines began. At this point, you'll reach the heart of the medieval Florence: Piazza della Signoria and its Palazzo Vecchio, where Dante's funerary mask is kept. The tour will then end in Piazza Santa Croce, where you'll eventually be able to admire one of the most beautiful statues of Dante.
