What to expect

Enter the Accademia and immerse yourself in the art of Michelangelo to know his most renowned work, the “David”, and other important works of art such as ''I Prigioni'' and ''San Matteo''. The young Michelangelo carved the David from a huge block of rough marble in three years, creating an imposing sculpture of absolute beauty, an icon of the Renaissance model. He depicted a magnificent nude young man at the height of his physical vigor, whose intense expression of strength and courage, which originated from an absolute faith in God, roses as a symbol of power and invincibility of the Florentine Republic at the time of its maximum splendor. Once the guided tour is over, it is possible to stay in the Museum.

Once inside the Duomo, called Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, you will be immediately struck by the elegance of the spaces of the three naves. Lead by your expert Guide you will enjoy the beauty of the marble choir of Bandinelli, the complex of the precious stained-glass windows worked by Donatello, Ghiberti and Andrea del Castagno and the singular and mysterious clock by Paolo Uccello. You will be also surprised to be able to walk on a marvelous carpet of polychrome marble. Then, looking up, the immense precious interior of the Dome entirely frescoed by Vasari will appear, the biggest fresco in the world. On Piazza del Duomo, next to the Cathedral, you also have the chance to visit the precious Museo della Misericordia.
