What to expect

Enjoy a full-day guided e-bike tour on the Appian Route to Castel Gandolfo lake.

Ride your comfortable e-bike for about 35km departing from Rome. Explore this ancient route and spot tombs, ruins, and mounds surrounded by greenery. Finally, reach Castel Gandolfo to admire the natural beauty of Lake Albano.

In summer, take a regenerating bath if you feel like it, and then visit a typical osteria with a historic cellar where you can taste local dishes if you want. On the way back, take the train to Rome Termini Station, and reach the meeting point by e-bike.

  • The train ticket from Castel Gandolfo to Rome is included with the tour and don't require extra fees
  • This tour isn't recommended for pregnant travelers
  • The length of the itinerary is 33 kilometers (20 miles), 70% of which is off-road. The level is intermediate but requires a minimum of cycling experience (difficult with a child seat or extension).
  • Around 60% of this tour takes place via Appia Antica. You'll ride on chosen streets, but some traffic is unavoidable to connect the Appian Way to Lake Albano
  • Infants up to 20kg traveling on a child seat, come on the tour free of charge
  • Children up to 139cm join the tour with a child extension
  • Children from 140cm and above can independently ride an E-bike
  • This tour isn't suitable for pets
