Be enchanted by the beauty of Reggia di Caserta, the XVIII century Bourbon Royal Palace. Get on board a high-speed train for the journey south to Caserta. With its five floors, 1200 rooms, 34 stairs and 1742 windows, it's the largest Royal Palace in the world and in 1997 was even declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mirrors, tapestries, and frescoes make the palace a jewel of priceless. This Royal Palace, the work of architect Luigi Vanvitelli, son of the famous Dutch painter Gaspar Van Wittel who was already active in Rome under Benedict XIV in the restoration of the dome of St. Peter's, can be considered a unique fusion of two other royal residences: the Palace of Versailles of the Sun King and the Escorial Palace in Madrid, residence of the King of Spain.
The tour lasts for the entire day, starting from Rome traveling in a comfortable air-conditioned high-speed train.
