What to expect

Your journey starts as you drive through a two-hour scenic drive South of Auckland into the mighty Waikato of New Zealand's lush countryside. Discover the unexpected at the Hamilton Gardens, a living museum of gardens from ancient Egypt to the modern days. Enter a world of imagination, exploration, beauty, and inspiration. Embark on a self-guided tour on a journey of hidden stories, secret symbols, and insights, bringing Hamilton Gardens to life for first-time visitors. Then travel to Raglan Rock, where people create memories whilst challenging themselves. Explore the natural underground formations and caves with a canyoning expedition in Raglan and be surrounded by picturesque scenery throughout the trip. This is a highly-rated, truly magical canyoning experience. As the sun goes down, descend on the ancient freshwater boulder stream of Mt Karioi.

Wrapped up in the latest canyoning suits, jump into the freshwater pool, challenging yourself to climb and abseil the cascading waterfalls, all under the light of your head torch and guides’ instruction. Slowly the tiny and unique New Zealand glowworms will begin to radiate their luminescent light and accompany you on your adventure, surrounding you in their spectacular fairy light galaxies at the final waterfall.

The glow-worm canyoning experience start time will change throughout the season due to sunset.
Tours operate in all weather conditions both in summer and winter. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
The river and mountainous environments are continually changing
All Adventures Guides are properly licensed and trained
All equipment is industry standard and well-maintained. Participants are well-informed and properly equipped before each activity
Bringing your camera is at your own risk, it is recommended that your camera has a strap that you can attach to yourself or can be kept in a zip pocket
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the conditions, Sun protection, jacket/warm layer, and any essential personal items
Please wear closed-toe footwear, such as trainers/sneakers
No previous experience is required as a full and comprehensive safety briefing will be conducted
Good and moderate fitness level required - must have the ability to hike and walk for at least 2 hours
The participants are obliged to fulfill the conditions of participation and agree to strictly follow the instructions of the organiser
After the tour, you will be dropped back at the pickup point
A minimum of 2 people are required for this tour to operate
